Having problems OC'ing this card. It's stock is 600mhz core clock and its factory OC'd to 625mhz which is a minor improvement. However when i try and OC this card using either nTune or RivaTuner it runs "seemingly" fine for about 2 mins then crashes. Crashes in 3Dmark testing aswell. Just generally woundering if any1 can give any advice or want to share their OC'ing experiences with this card.

LOL, first attempt, boosted the core clock from 625 to 675mhz, worked perfectly, ran str8 through 3DMark05 without any complaints what so ever, thanks very much m8 that's done the job. Still the thread is here if anybody else would like to talk about their OC'ing experiences with this GPU aswell :)

I bought it on sale at Frys about a year ago for about $150 (I think it was on sale for $189 with a $40 rebate, if I remember correctly)
Stock factory overclocked specs are:
G92 core
PCI 2.0
512mb of gddr3
675 core (vs. 650 stock)
1674 shader (vs. 1625 stock)
1940 memory
128 Stream Processors
Texture fill rate 43.2 billion/sec
Memory bandwidth 62.1gb/sec
Shader model 4.0

Be sure you unlink the memory and shader clocks.....overclock just the core first, when you have reached a good workable limit, slowly start raising the memory and shader clocks to get the best results.

I got 2 PNY XLR8 8800GT in SLI, both clocked to 700 MHz core 1800 MHz shaders, no temperature problems and they use single sloth cooling solution, just had to adjust the fan speed manually.
Riva tuner worked for me.

That statement is not accurate your BFG 8800 GTS OC has 128 stream processors!

His BFG 9800 GT has 112 stream processors as does the 8800 GT so his card is at best a relabeled 8800 GT.

Also the 9800 GT does not have Tri-SLI capability.

Sorry everyone, my mistake. I thought the 9800 series of cards were going to be released supporting tri-sli. Don't quite understand why the "9" series came about, because I don't know of anything else they did to the 9 series that would make them any better than the 8 series, other than the 9800GX 2
Isn't the memory slightly faster or something?
