BFG GTX 260 896mb to a Asus GTX 280 1gb

My friend is sending me a GTX 280 that he doesn't use anymore. I was wondering what kind of improvements I could expect, so I don't get my hopes up too high. I'll be playing games like Dead Island, BF:BC2, BF3, Diablo3, Arkham City and less graphic dependent titles... WoW and CS 1.6. I'm getting it for free and I'll be giving my GTX 260 to a friend who is using a 9500 GT. I'm aware that it is 2 generations behind but from what I've read, apparently it runs similar to a GTX 460? Again, I'm in the dark... Thanks in advance.

OS: Windows 7 Home Prem 64bit

Motherboard :EVGA 750i SLI FTW

CPU: Intel C2Q Q9550

Memory: Corsair XMS2 2x2GB

Hard Drive: 640GB Western Digital

Video Card: BFG GeForce GTX 260
