Hey all. I'm back again with another question about a graphics card compatibility. Is this graphics card compatible with my dell OptiPlex 780 mother board,an 0c27vv.

Any help is appreciated. I chose this graphics card because it has a very low price on ebay and even though its probably outdated by todays graphics card,I'm pretty sure its better than the integrated graphics card of the Dell OptiPlex 780.

You forgot the most important factor besides if it'll fit: psu. It's quite a hungry card and the stock psu even on the mt is way too small. But it won't fit in the case anyways. They only accept single slot cards which is limited to lower power cards but would work fine with the stock psu. You can usually find newer stuff for better deals and performance.

Yes you are right. I forgot about the psu , but did you know that this dell optiplex 780 has different cases? There was 3 or 4 different versions with matx and atx cases. So it could fit. The psu is a metter of 40 usd , here is a sample : https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-100-W1-0500-K3-Power-Supply-Socket/dp/B00H33SFJU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496008686&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+400w

PS. I included this psu , only because you can use it in 5 years if you decide to build a new pc! 😀

I know it has different cases but even the biggest mt still only accepts single slot cards because of the where they put the slot on the btx mobo. Even if you take the back bracket off, you run into the cpu duct and heatsink for everything but mini size dual slot cards.

You can't use the card with the pc, period. You need to find another gpu. How much did it cost? What is your budget?

I don't really have a budget and I want something under $100.I know graphics cards are really expensive but I'm sure I can find something on ebay.Is there any graphics cards that will fit without me needing to adjust anything else in my pc?

Depending the CPU in it (which could be as low as a celeron) it may not matter much what GPU you put in there because it's just far too outdated.
Only the highest end Core 2 Quads are still of any use.
The GTX 275 is significantly worse than a GT 740, which is also a pretty low end card.

No you can use the stock psu. A 710 is not a 1030. I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. Why are you upgrading? What is the pc used for? What are the rest of your specs?

The other specs are important but a 275 is the same tier as a 740. A gpu can be re-used.

I need the pc for creating games in Unreal Engine 4 and faster compile times(which is cpu related not gpu related). The rest of my specs? If I'm not mistaken, 4 gb ram,250 gb hdd, integrated graphics card, and a Core 2 duo @ e8400

Those will physically not fit. If you use a dual slot card, there can't be ports on the top. Low profile is not necessary unless this is the dt or sff version but for those, they have to be single slot since the hdd is mounted above the slot. I'd also think it won't help and a 1030 is about the limit for a c2d. Do you have the mt version of the optiplex 780?

I have the desktop version
