BG2 Looking for wrong CD Drive?

Hi,

I installed BG2 using my F drive (I have 2 CD drives, E and F).

Recently my F drive broke down, and I do not have the money to replace it.

I can play BG2 by starting in the E drive, but when I get to a part where I
have to switch discs, it always prompts to put the disc in the F drive.
Putting it in the E drive doesn't work.

How can I tell BG2 to look in the E drive for the disc? I tried disabling
F: in my hardware profile, but BG2 still looks for it.

Thanks,
chris.

I'm not at home, so I don't know any details. But I think there is
an .INI file in your BG2 directory that has path names for every
CD. So find the right .INI file, make a copy of it (just in case you
make an undoable mistake), then edit all file paths by replacing the
"F:" parts with "E:" parts.

Good luck!

Awesome, thanks.

I don't have time to try this right now, but it sounds like it will do the
trick

Thanks so much,
chris.
