Question Big GPU dilemma

Hi all,

I need help deciding which GPU to get. The only game I play is Euro Truck Simulator 2 at native 4K on high/ultra settings, and having a locked 60 FPS is mandatory for me. My current setup can’t provide 60 FPS anymore, which is why I’m upgrading.

I’ve been struggling with this GPU dilemma for two months now. Not being able to decide made me miss some interesting offers that came and went quickly, as you know, GPU stock is often limited.

So now I need to decide quickly. I’m hesitating between three GPUs from different price ranges.

- PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB - 620$

- Gygabyte RTX 5070 WINDFORCE SFF 12G (non OC version) - 800$

- ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT OC Edition 20GB - 900$

I’m not sure if the first two will be able to run the game the way I want, since I couldn’t find any video benchmarks featuring the most demanding DLC (Greece Map).

And I know the third one can handle it, but it’s out of my budget, although I could stretch and break the bank for it.

So, should I go for the RX 7900 XT and break the bank, or are the other GPUs good enough to meet my expectations?

This GPU choice is getting really desperate and frustrating. I’m honestly starting to regret getting used to 4K…

7800 XT isn't well priced and it is a good bit slower than a 5070.

$800 is a tad high for a 5070, which can be had for around $650 average, and you can occasionally see RX 9070, which are faster in rasterization at 4K around that $800 mark, which is higher than it should be, but they are slightly better than a 5070.

Cheapest 9070 XT at $850 is faster than a 7900XT, so that would be my pick if available.

Assuming US prices. If this is Canada, then $800 for a 5070 is about right.
