HI
I have little problem!!
My PC is working realy weard. In some games FPS is exelent ( C&C generals ZH , Homeworld 2 , TOCA RC 2 ... ) but in some games FPS is always very low or it is changing from good to zero in a seconds ( Call od duty and UO , Farcry , Colin McRae 2005 ...), doesnt matter in witch resolution or level of detail it is alwais the same thing!!!

My bucket :}
Asus K8N-E
AMD FX64 2800+
1GB DDR RAM
Pixelview GeForce FX5900XT 128 mb

I know everithing should run like crazy but it doesnt !!!!
HELP or I'll gonna burn this bucket :)

The games that operate ok are all older games (using DX8? im not too sure about HW2), the games that go bad are newer titles using DX9. It could be related to that. I have no personal experience with the videocard you have.

you bottleneck would be your video card. Get a Radeon X800 XT or nVidia 6800 Ultra. Then your rig will smoke.

XP2800+, Abit NF7, 1GB Dual-Channel DDR333, ATI R9800PRO 128MB, TT PurePower 420W, LG DVD+-R/RW

LOL! That's a rather expensive solution to the problem.

What FPS are you calling bad in a game like FarCry? Give us a measure.

<font color=red><b>NF7-S/MBarton 2500+
210x11.5 1.82v SP-97
GB Corsair XMS PC3200
BBA 9800 Pro 423/369</font color=red><font color=black>
NF7-S/MBarton 2600+
210x11.5 1.76v
512MB CVR PC3200
Sapphire 9500@9700

In Farcry FPS is not higher then 20 (max) exterior , inside buildings is better 25-35, but even if I would have slower grafic card (Ti 4200 , R9600) it should run like crazy in lower details but its the same , doesnt matter SUPER ULTRA HIGH or TURBO LOW I get same number of FPS!!!
Like Britnye said : CRAZYYYYYY :))

really does sound more like a DX9 problem than anything else..... try different drivers to see if that helps but ultimately see if u can get yur mits on a 9800pro if u know a mate with one..... I reckon u will see a difference
