Dunno much about what's gone on, for a start you listed no specs

A less than 1% overclock would NOT have caused that. You can totally discount that possibility. The 2.8ns memory on my 6800XT is overclocked by over 10% (700 => 790MHz). The 2ns (I think) on your card would be completely able to hack a 5MHz increase with no problems.

You would also see absolutely no performance difference - so really, if you are going to OC, do it big enough to make a difference, because all you did was void your warranty by running the card above it's default specs

I won't be of much help but I can vouch for this problem. I made a post a little while ago because of heat problems with my EVGA 6800GS AGP.

Now I'm having an issue where my secondary screen and television is garbled. When I'm connected via an S-Video cable I'm only seeing the top half of the screen and the rest of the output is garbled regardless of resolution or setting. Removing and reinstalling drivers and testing different cables made no difference so I'm stumped as well.

I had however also overclocked my card from 350/1000 to 400/1100 which initially seemed to work fine without any artifacts or heats issues. I had to drop that back down to default settings after a month or so when my card started saying it was hitting 117C while I was gaming. Now it only seems to top out around 111C.

HOLY FK 111 C ??? 8O

I *HOPED* you were talking deg F until I read it again... I get nervous when my 6800XT goes above 75C... man, you either have screwed temperature sensors, or you need some cooling ASAP. Silicon is just not meant to take that kind of punishment...

My 6800XT hits around 55-65 C depending on the game (and my Northy 2.4 @ 2.99 about 40 C). That's in about 18C ambient with 3x120mm fans, two back & 1 front (as well as the fan in the PSU)

"Heat problems"... understatement of the year :!: :!: :!:

OP: reinstalling drivers is a good idea - just make sure you get one of the NV driver cleaners running around the place to kill ALL settings in registry etc. before you reinstall

I get serious artifacting at 90 degrees... on the desktop.
Wow 117, that's one for the record books!

You should take off the fan and stick on a heatplate... then proceed to make the best scrambled eggs EVER!
