Hi,

I recently had to rebuild my system since I bought a new video card and MoBo. I've got some problem, but all seems to be nice since 1 day or 2. But Yesterday, I was playing Battlefield 2, and the game returned to windows, to see my MSI Core Center alert me about my CPU fan that was running at 800 RPM, 700 RPM, 600 RPM at a rate of about -100 RPM/sec. My CPU temp was 43°C and my system 41°C. The fan is habitually turning at about 1300 RPM. I shut down the system and restart it a couple hours later, and returned in the same game. The same thing happened again, but the speed stop decreasing at about 700RPM, and was staying at it for 5 min, until I shut down the system.

My specs:

AMD Athlon64 3200+
MSI K8N-SLI-FI
ATI AIW X1800XL
TT Big Typhoon

Thanks

Your BIOS is probably dropping fan speed in order to make the system quieter. Try turning off "cool and quiet" and smart fan controls. Or, just smart fan controls, if you can find the setting.

Hi,

My specs:

Antec Sonata Case, with only the back case fan
Antec NeoHE 500W
ATI AIW X1800XL PCIE 256Mb
MSI K8N-SLI-FI NF4
2 X Kingston KVR DDR 400 1GB Kit
TT Big Typhoon
Seagate SATA Barracuda 7200.8 250GB
Seagate SATA Barracuda 7200.7 160GB
NEC DVD+-RW 3520A

I had to remove the optional fan since my new ATI card is to long to permit the usage of that fan, placed between the hard disk and the video card. So if someone know a slim and quiet 120mm fan, i would be pretty much interested.
