Long story short, I'm going to be buying the Acer Iconia W3. It comes in two models; 32 GB and 64 GB. I am also going to buy a MicroSD for it, either a 32 GB or a 64 GB one. If I get the 32 GB device, I'll be getting the 64 GB SD, and vice versa. The price works out to be slightly cheaper if I get the 32 GB device with 64 GB SD.
Now, heres the thing.
I am in Canada, so the 64 GB device may not be availible to me in the first place. So I may have to choose the first option anyways.
But anyways, heres what I'm thinking.
If I get the 64 GB device, I'll use the main hard drive as my main drive and use the SD as storage. This would be my ideal situation as there wouldnt be any speed or wearing issues.
Now, the second option (which I might need to do anyways if the 64 GB is availible), is that I use the 64 GB microSD and just use the main hard drive as a drive to keep the OS and main programs.
What I'm worried about is the wearing and speed of the second option.
I do not think wearing will be a big issue as I probably wont fill the SD anywhere near to capacity, and I probably wont be writing and rewriting to it a lot. I'll just toss a few games (nothing intensive, just like Maplestory and Minecraft and similar low spec games) on it with some movies and my music collection (I have a small movie and music collection) and that'll be it for most of my writes. But what do you think?
Also, speed. I know there are microSDs with speed up to 30 MB/s and above, and even higher in read speeds, but do you think loading times for games and movies will be horrible if I use the microSD as my main drive over the internal drive?
So what're your guys opinions on the situation?
