Biometrics for phone and other devices

biometrics for the phone and other devices have some serious shortfalls. opening of phones without the owner premission for example, either by putting their finger on the device or using face recognision. is the simple pincode superior? is using both an option?

There's no objectively better security solution, outside of using no security. Figure out what your needs are, what risks you're willing to accept, and choose the best solution that offers enough of a convenience for you without sliding too far from being insecure, because convenience and security are mutually exclusive.

And as far as I know, most phones don't have an option for multi-factor authentication to unlock it.
