Specs
Mobo:gigabyte GA990fxa-ud3 rev 4
Cpu:AMD fx 8350
Gpu:sapphire R9 280 3gb 384bit
RAM:G Skill Rijaws(2x4gb) 1600mhz
Psu:gigabyte 550w 80+ bronze

So I put it all together it posts and gives the code 1 long 3 short beeps I've googled and have found similar answers(reseat, separate, or try different slots for RAM or GPU) none which have worked. Everything is seated and locked in place by slot. Everything is plugged in. I called a tech at gigabyte to confirm this was a GPU issue and so it seems to be but I figured just in case cause they're over a phone and not looking at my pc so I take it to a geek squad before I RMA my GPU and waste time on something that's not an issue and they give it a quick diagnosis and they conclude that all parts(GPU as well) are in working order but my mobo has a short? I thought if the mobo had a short it wouldn't even post? Which my mobo will, I just don't get a display on monitor which is clear to conclude it's the GPU but the fans run and it seems to work. what does a short mean? The mobo isn't dead(to my knowledge at least though this is my first build), but does this need to RMA as well or is it fixable? The "short" geek squad has concluded couldn't be from case cause I have "bread boarded" it as well same code. Would appreciate help ASAP before I end up RMA bot mobo and GPU and wait nearly a month now for possibly new parts that still might not work. Definitely not having a good experience with my first build extremely frustrating.

For now this will suffice though I don't have esd bag mobo came in, though it has 1 year accidental coverage from newegg. And from what hear they're real sticklers for having everything from retail package. So I feel like sending the mobo will be pointless cause they'll just send it back. I will update when new hardware arrives.

So I went to a local bestbuy to get a GPU to test and it turns out its not the mobo luckily. But once again before I RMA the GPU could the psu connectors for GPU cause the mobo to not detect it if they weren't getting enough juice?

Never mind checked psu with my multimeter, voltages are right. I still don't understan how the fans for the card we're spinning but I was still getting that beep code and no display.
