Bios Chip Location on MSI Z170A PC MATE

hey guys,

yesterday i bought a msi z170a pc mate motherboad from olx.in . when i put my cpu in it its cpu debug led kept blinking and i had no display. long things short.... i wanna know where is the bios chip on this mobo?

Hi, Not sure. but... check for a 8 pin chip with Winbond on it.

Probably the one above the JSPI1 connector.

You're welcome. I've never used one, so can't answer it.
With most programmers you'd have to desolder the chip...

hey there alexoiu. i searched the board for any ic starts with winbond. but i found none. need help.

Try taking a good res picture of the bottom right corner of the board and posting it here.

I cant find good enough photo of this board to locate bios chip, but msi uses now soldered ones, so if you cant find winbond chip then try looking for one starting with mx or with MX logo.
