Hey folks, Ive been a moron and bought a mobo (Gigabyte B360N wifi) and CPU (Intel 9400f) that might require a BIOS update to boot together, but I keep finding conflicting information. According to Intel's website they should work fine from BIOS F1.0, but according to gigabyte I need F12.0, then looking into it further GB thinks they should boot from F7.0, which was July 31st 2018, and I think this board is from July 2018, but I have no way of knowing which BIOS the board shipped with at the minute.

Can anyone provide any insight or advice at all?
Im largely out of luck short of buying a cheap processor to boot from if they aren't compatible, so any help at all would be appreciated.

F12 BIOS version is required for i5-9400F support on this board.

Why would you look for info specific on Gigabyte board at Intel site?
Because they have a compatability tool for exactly this reason and it's been a while since a built a fresh system so I wanted to check every where. And based on GB's website it might need a bios anywhere from 7 to 12 because the info is different on different pages, so i wanted to see if there was another source of info that was more concrete.
