BIOS cpu question

Hello , so yesterday I installed a new cpu but I didn't update [strike]bios[/strike] BIOS before I installed that cpu now my computer goes on fans spin but no display or beep. I have a b150 pro gaming d3 and upgraded from a i3 6100 to an i5 7400 do I need to upgrade my [strike]bios[/strike] BIOS and if so how?. Thanks in advance

I need to know what bios version you have to have 2203. If you do then there is some other problem. If you dont then you need to put the i3 back in and update the bios using that cpu

I don't know atm because I put the i5 in and restarted next thing you know no display no beep but when I get some thermal paste I'll put back the i3 and check. Tbh I didn't update my bios once since I got my pc so I think that might be it

Yea its definately a bios thing, just always remember to check your cpu support before buying a new one
