Do i have to have the specific bios update where cpu gets the support for my mobo? Or i can have the latest bios update and just proceed to upgrade cpu?

B350M pro vd plus, currently i am using athlon x4 950 but i will upgrade to ryzen 5 2600. I have the latest bios update, and i am just asking if i need to go down a version or smth
