BIOS detecting 3rd hard drive, not OS

I'm running an Alienware Aurora R3 with A06 BIOS and Windows 10. Windows is installed on my 250GB SSD, and everything else is on my 2TB HDD. All that works well, no issues there. I happened to have a 250GB HDD lying around somewhere with a bunch of photos on it, so I tried to plug it in my pc.
It shows up in the BIOS and in the RAID utility thing that keeps popping up before the windows logo on startup.
As soon as I get into windows, I can't see the drive anywhere. It doesn't show up in the file explorer (I also went in file explorer options and unchecked everything that would hide empty drives, unassigned drives, etc...), not in the disk management, device management, nowhere.

Do I have to install drivers or something? I tried plugging it into another port with other cables but that didn't change anything.
I don't see what else I could do. The drive is a WD Blue 250GB HDD

turn off the raid service in bios.

The only option I have regarding raid in my bios it to choose between AHCI and RAID. I can't choose ahci because my pc won't boot and gives a bsod with "inaccessible boot device"

You have to figure that out if you want a working drive. What exactly does the RAID utility thing say ? Is raid an intentional way for the computer to configure the drives?

Was windows installed using raid mode in the bios ?

windows was installed using raid mode... I'm afraid if I do anything to change raid for another type of storage management thing I'm going to end up having to reinstall windows. It's a pain on my pc, aurora r3's crash on restarts so the windows install literally takes 10x longer.

But all my drives are labeled as Non-RAID Disks

This procedure should work. Back up all data presently on the ssd to the 2TB just in case of data loss.

Here is a shorter version

1. Run MSCONFIG
2. Enable Safe Boot (minimal)
3. Reboot into UEFI/BIOS and change to AHCI
4. Boot up into safe mode
5. Run MSCONFIG and disable Safe Boot.
6. Reboot

If this causes a problem then the options are to return to raid or reinstall windows on the ssd.
