I'm trying to update the BIOS of my laptop, a Toshiba Satellite Pro c50-a-1j4 and I downloaded the program to update the BIOS since this model does not have the flash when you start the PC. However, the program gives me the error CURRENT BIOS DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE TYPE OF ROM. Please help me, I have both laptop and desktop PCs not working now, because I was trying a flash on the laptop for the GPU for repeated BSOD. I have a lot of stuff to do, please help as soon as possible!

Please stick to one thread, creating multiple threads won't do anyone good apart from ending up with spaghetti brains. I've merged 3 of your threads onto one.

Are you sure you have the right BIOS version for your laptop? Speaking of BIOS, what BIOS version are you currently on? To also add, why are you trying to update the BIOS for your laptop?

I have a lot of stuff to do, please help as soon as possible!
People will respond to your thread when they've gotten free time, you're advised to be patient until then.

I have now the 1.40 rev. I am trying to install the 1.70 for a GPU issue. The Nvidia one keep showing up but driver won't install. This after a ram swap but now the ram are back to when the GPU was working and drivers won't install anyway

Are you sure, this is correct model name of your laptop?
I can't find info for this specific model.
Can you provide link, from where you're getting BIOS update download?

I am sure this is the exact model. I know it is not well known in the internet. Here's the link where I downloaded the BIOS ( I also tried other sites ).

That is not official Toshiba Satellite support link.
And it is for Satellite C50 (not Satellite PRO C50).

Does your GPU show up with an error code 43 in Device Manager? I'm assuming you're on Windows, since you haven't given us much info and we're having to fish for it from you.
Yeah, sorry for the missing information. But yes, that's the code. For specifications, I have some temu-ish DDR3 1600mhz RAM Stick, and a Samsung DDR3 4gb 1333mhz One. For the CPU I have an i7-3820QM and a Fanxiang ( I think ) 500gb SSD. Let me know if u need other informations

That's rarely a BIOS issue. Unless the notes accompanying the downloaded BIOS refer to your problem specifically then you do not simply flash the BIOS just because you think it's the thing to do.

Open up GPU-Z and see if you're seeing 0(zero)'s in there, pass on a screenshot if you don't know what you're looking at. If you do see zero's, then your GPU is dead. There's nothing you can do about it.
Yes there are. But when I first found this laptop, long story, it wasn't working and it infact started working later on... Can u anyway provide me the link to the correct bios update?

I really thought that I've found the right one. Can u provide me a link?
BIOS version 1.4 seems to be latest available for Satellite PRO C50-A.

And Dynabook official support doesn't even provide bios updates for Satellite PRO C50-A models.
