Hello, I wanted to sell my old SSD to my friend. So I installed it to my current computer so I could format it. But either bios and disk management doesn't recognize it. Also I tried with like 4 different cables and 2 differend mobos and PSUs. Both SSD's have win10 on it.

I also tried to use windows installation media to format it from there, But it didn't show up there.

My current pc:
i7 7700K
Corsair rm650x
16gb g.skill ripjaws
samsung 850 evo 500gb ssd
Asus prime z270-a mobo.

And the ssd I'm trying to format is Crucial MX100 512gb.

So I took it out from my old pc and tried to format with new. Didin't work.

Sorry for my english, I'm not native english speaker.

It could be. I'd try contacting Crucial support. Even if it's not still under warranty, they may have some more steps you can try. If it is under warranty, you might be able to get a replacement.

My situation was really weird. I'm lucky I got it working again, and I'm not entirely sure what the problem was.
That's so weird. I just had a similar situation with a Crucial MX100 256GB. I had to try several things to resolve it, and I'm not sure which step actually resolved the issue.

Is your MX100 formatted MBR for an older system? If so, I had to try these steps to get the BIOS in my Kaby Lake laptop to recognize it:

1) Disable Secure Boot.
2) Enable legacy (not UEFI) boot.
3) Enable CSM.

After applying the above configuration changes, the laptop recognized and was able to boot from the MX100. I'm not sure why the BIOS wouldn't recognize the MX100 at all. It should have at least be able to see it as a storage device, if not a boot drive.

I don't remember if its MBR or not. I will try these steps now. Thanks for help.

Tried those steps and now it boots straight to BIOS and no drives available, and my samsung was "frozen" state. And had to undo yhose changes to get to windows again. Still couldn't see my crucial ssd..

Nope, nothing. Could it just be broken? Which seems weird because I used it like 3 month ago, then bought new pc and never touched it again.
