Hey guys, I've been having few problems with my comp recently like :

    Its gotten much slower
    Usb ports frequent disconnections
audio volume and sound heard in l/r side of my headphone kinda messes up when there is a slight fluctuation in power
I ve changed 3 mice in the past 3 years as the right click or the left click doesn't respond properly most of the time and I've come to realize its the comp that has the problem and not the mice .

so I've decided first to update drivers and bios to the latest version to see if that helps in any way

My questions are :

  • Which is the proper bios version for my config ?
Any ideas about the usb, audio and mouse issues?
Does fluctuation in power cause such problems and if so how to fix that ?

My pc config :

  • Processor : Intel Core i5 2500 clocked at 3.30 GHz
Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate Edition ‎(X64)‎
    Motherboard : Intel Corporation DH67BL AAG10189-210
    Ram : 2 x 4 GB Corsair vengeance (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)
Graphics card : Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2 GB
PSU : Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 600W
    BIOS Version/Date Intel Corp. BLH6710H.86A.0128.2011.0823.1224, 8/23/2011

Pop along to the Intel Download Centre, thats your best bet to start with..
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx

had a little look around and this looks like the download you require.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22273&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20%2864-bit%29*&DownloadType=BIOS

Version 0160 (BL0160.BIO)

However Im not sure if you have any experience flashing mobo bios etc?
Please be aware that there is always a risk involved, and that risk is that if something goes wrong you could end up with a non-working PC.

Edit - If it is indeed the PSU, I agree get it swapped out asap.
Could be your power supply. Its listed in Tier 5 - replace immediately - from http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

It could be from high cpu temps.

You can Google the bios for your motherboard.

Download and run HWInfo - Sensors and post the results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar.

That'll show temps, voltages, fan rpm etc and give a good picture of how your pc is running.

I tried running the software but it got stuck at "checking Intel management engine " so I tried installing the latest version of that driver and then it worked for a lil while but now again it stopped responding , like it did previously but I managed to get a screenshot of the results for the sensors :

Hey , appreciate the help , thank you 😀 And yes I'm a complete novice at this but I did track down a few threads which mentioned the problems and fixes for installing the wrong bios so I thought it would be safer to get an experts opinion about picking the proper version to avoid that .

Your Vcore is slightly high (1.26V) and your cpu is getting too hot (55C). Have you overclocked the cpu? Drop Vcore by .05V
Blow out your case - especially fans, filters and coolers. Raise the cpu fan speed.

If that doesn't work then re-seat the cpu cooler - remove it, clean off the old thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol from the cooler and cpu. Then put a pea size drop of Arctic Silver 5 paste on the cpu and re-assemble the cooler.

Tnx for the advice , I ll try applying new thermal paste but I was wondering if I shld just go for a new cooler altogether since I was running mine on the stock cooler .... And forgot to mention that I havent overclocked the cpu or touched any of the controls related to it , just tried over-clocking my gpu .

I'm currently on a tight budget since I m building another rig for my brother so is there a cheaper alternative without compensating too much performance ? and also a budget psu recommendation would be nice seeing as I'm having such power problems but I'm not entirely sure if its the psu just yet .

It actually did the trick for the past 3 years so I'm not gonna complain 😉

thats true but in my country it costs approx 45$ not sure why , and I changed the fan speeds , connected the rear fan to the psu , underclocked the system a bit and now I m gettinga constant 39-40 during idle and 65 during load compared to the 50 during idle and 85-90 during load b4 . The fan speed was kinda stuck at 1000rpm b4 so had to get that fixed and now it runs fine ..

That's still a bit high still. You should now re-seat the cooler - remove it, clean off the old thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol from the cooler and cpu. Then put a pea size drop of Arctic Silver 5 paste on the cpu and re-assemble the cooler. To see if that improves it again.

yup I ll do that asap as well :) Also if the cmos battery is low or not proper , will that cause the problems that I mentioned above on my mobo ? I dont knw much about them but I thought it might be a factor .

I see , well I guess I ll still have to figure out what the exact prob is with my mobo but u ve helped me with a lot of other issues it had , tnx a lot :hihi:
