BIOS fan control or software?

For good case fan and pu fan control, is it better to make custom curves inside the motherboard BIOS or get a program like afterburner/speedfan/fan xpert/NZXT CAM? Thanks for any help (If you are wondering I am trying to get very quiet computing and I want to control my fans very precisely)

Do your own curve, just make sure that you monitor your temps. I do my own and I am pleased with it. You can tinker with speeds until you find the settings you like.

but do you use your mobo BIOS or one of the programs listed above?

Use your motherboard bios. Your motherboard manufacturer might have supplied you with a CD that has a program that does most Bios functions like this. It depends on the motherboard and manufacturer. Mine did, but it might be different for you.
