I am flashing my BIOS on an Asus Z97-C.
I used ai suite 3. Found the newest version of my BIOS (upgrading to 2801) and followed all the prompts (I cant remember exactly what all there was, I did it a day ago and have been trying to solve the current issue)

PROBLEM: When rebooting, I am brought to the BIOS flashing utility. When I search and click on the new BIOS file to overwrite, it says "would you like to read this file." If I click yes, it says "failed to read."

I'm not sure why its trying to read this file? Shouldn't it say something like "is this the file you want to use?" It appears everything has been done correctly so far, as my computer is alive and semi working.

Also, if I try to exit the utility, it just goes back to the same BIOS flash utility screen. So its like groundhog day over here.

Solution
Hi Sean :)

Do not use AISuite to flash your Bios. Best and safest way is to download the Bios file from ASUS Support to an empty Fat32 formatted USB stick.
Insert the USB into an appropriate port, Go into your Bios and bring up the Tools menu in advanced section. Follow instructions for EZ Flash2 utility as per your MB manual section 3.11.2.

Solution
You're a saint! I was convinced I would have to wait 10 years to get a reply. Just went to bed and woke up to the solution.

It seems I just needed to put the file on an external device like you said. Everything went smoothly.
