I have an Asrock Z97 Extreme4 using the P1.20 BIOS version along with a i5-4690K. I've been running this system for a month but yesterday I found that my mobo needs the P1.30 update to use this CPU as stated in the asrock web.
The system has been running fine, I couldn't reach the average overclock of this CPU by 0.1GHz but I assumed I just got a bad chip.

Should I flash the new BIOS version?

i5 4690K 3.5 GHz - 88W , i5 4690 3.5GHz - 84W . Maybe a BIOS update is better .

Maybe a BIOS update is better. But, try to understand, if its not done correctly, it often renders the MoBo unsable, requiring either a RMA or a different BIOS chip. Also, if his current version is supporting the CPU, there won't be ANY significant difference in the newer versions.

i hope he has a mobo with the newer BIOS
