When im bios flashing my motherboard with a usb flashdrive can there be other files on it than the bios update or will that effect it?

When im bios flashing my motherboard with a usb flashdrive can there be other files on it than the bios update or will that effect it?

Format the usb, then install the bios update from the website. Making sure you have only the one file that is the bios update.
