Bios Flashing Cpu use

I just managed to flash the bios on my P5LD2 Mobo, I had an early bios on it, I now have 1903, But to run the cpu i want on it i need bios 1702 does this mean i will have to down grade the bios to 1702 or is it still able to work on 1903? I'm assuming that since 1903 is a newer bios that it will still keep the support for the cpu i need. (Core 2 duo, E6400 2.13 Ghz)

newer bios is fine, you shouldn't have any problems.

Yes, newer is better and it will be including all the old bios, you don't need to downgrade the bios.
