Hi, someone know if I buy an Asrock b550 steel legend today, I will be able to install a new ryzen 5000 without any bios update?

Asrock doesn't have the 5000 series cpus listed on the support list yet. But, Steve at GN said the bios for 5000 series has started rolling out, which is a pretty good indicator that a new bios is going to be needed. Asrock hasn't posted the bios update for that board, then it is likely if you buy a b550 now it will not have the updated bios.

If you want to buy a board now and hold it till you get a ryzen 5000 then look for a board with bios flashback and that will allow you to update the bios without a cpu.
