Hi,

I have a Gigabyte z97x Gaming gt 1150 motherboard and have been experiencing some weird things with it recently.

When i access the bios i find that the bios freezes and unfreezes every few seconds making it very hard to navigate through the bios. has anyone got an idea why this would be happening? windows boots fine it just seems to be the bios that is really freezing/lagging.

I updated the bios and still the same problem.

I have had a similar experience with my last motherboard as well, it was freezing and unfreezing just like this current MB. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Solution
can be caused by a failing hard drive controler that locking up the sata ports or a bad sata cable. can also be to many devices on usb ports pulling to much power.
WOW! I can't believe it.

It was the fact i have a Couchmaster keyboard and mouse set-up which uses a USB hub that my keyboard and mouse connect to and one cable then goes to a USB port on my PC.

This was causing the lock ups i think because it must have been drawing too much power. When i switched to another keyboard and mouse and put the mouse and keyboard into separate ports on the pc i was getting no lag at all!

This explains why I was getting it with a past motherboard as well! I would have never figured that out without your help thank you very very much.
