Hey guys, I know that this is more of a shady question because of the name, but I recently invested into water cooling my MSi GTX 970 only to realize that it was completely useless. The only thing that was changing was my tempature. The only way I can make use of this cooling system is to "Bios Hack this GPU," effectively allowing me to make use of my 850 watt PSU and raise the core voltage limit on my Graphics Card. The problem is that I have heard that this is a delicate process and can not be reversed. That would both void my warranty and destroy my card. I was wondering if there are any experts out there that would be willing to guid me through this process. I am running windows 8.1 pro with the MSI edition of the GTX 970. Thank you, any help is appreciated.

Solution
You don't need to "hack the bios" to over clock and change the voltage, just use MSI Afterburner.

And yes, over clocking can be dangerous, just read up on what your video card can handle, I have the same MSI 970 and can boost the core clock by 200 mhz and the memory clock by 500 mhz without even needing to change the voltage.

Solution
I am currently using MSI Afterburner as my OC tool, the thing is that the maxwell architecture that the new nvidia cards use makes use of very little voltage causing MSI Afterburner not to be able to change the core voltage and in doing so, holding the overclocking potential of these cards back... alot. This can be fixed by doing a bios hack and water cooling the card, the problem is I need someone to explain the process to me before I mess up the graphics card.

Thank you!
