Hey! Is it possible to change a 4GB bios to a 2GB and have the extra 2GB idle? Just wondering... :00

So essentially, can you flash a 2GB bios onto a 4GB video card?

Im going to assume you are talking about a graphics card. I really have no clue if it is possible.

By flashing the bios on the graphics card, you are voiding your warranty for one. 2nd, you are at risk of bricking the card and turning it into a paperweight.

My GTX780 6GB has a custom bios. Completely different bios version from what came with the GTX780 3GB versions. I would never attempt to flash a 3GB cards bios onto my card, as the risk of bricking a card that i paid $500 for is just too great.

I see. I have fixed a bricked GPU before. Very simple. The only turndown to some people is a spare graphics card. I may try it soon. Hmm. Probably not. Thank you though. I am also looking forward to getting a GTX 780 3GB or a 970. Due to only using After Effects 90% of the time.
