Question BIOS hangs after replacing HDD

Hi
This has been baffling me all afternoon.

System before swapping old WD 2TB Black HDD with OS for cloned new WD 2TB Black HDD with OS:

ASMedia SATA ports empty
SATA 0: 2TB OS HDD
SATA 1: 10TB data
SATA 2: 6TB data
SATA 3: 6TB data

At this point everything worked and all HDD had been scanned by HDSentinel.

After swapping OS HDD:

BIOS doesnt load, it comes up once with splash screen then twice and just stays there. DEL doesnt move it on.

If I unplug the SATA 3 drive everything works, and if I hot plug the SATA 3 drive once Windows loads then the HDD is fully functional.

Weirdly even if I swap back the old 2TB OS HDD the issue is still the same, despite it previously working before putting in the replacement HDD.

Im on Windows 7 with all updates. I am on latest SATA controller drivers.

I tried plugging the SATA 3 drive to both the ASMedia ports (after uninstalling and reinstalling them), but it still gets stuck on the BIOS screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Make and model of your motherboard? Can you check and see what BIOS version you're on at the moment? Make and model of your PSU and it's age? You should reinstall the OS, not a cloned OS off of an HDD.
