My old Toshiba L650D 13Q has an Odd problem the bios holds the correct date but loses the time (sets it back to 00:00:00) If the power adapter stays connected the bios holds the correct time (most of the time) The main battery is completely dead, but the cmos battery (3V) has 3.1Volt. Whenever the bios loses the time at startup it asks to reset the time and date but the date is always correct. When i set the correct time in the bios again, it holds the time until i disconnects from the mains or when windows 10 restarts the laptop (after an update, but with the power connected)
Any one?

What is the time difference shown on the laptop versus the local time?

Check that the laptop is not going out to the internet to update its' timestamp via a server in another time zone.

Try another new CMOS battery just to be sure that the battery is fully functional.

Problem solved: The problem was the totally dead main battery. After a week with no connected mains the date was still correct, but time still was lost. With a replacement main battery the problem is completely solved.
