I just bought a samsung ssd 850 250gb and i installed it on ex58-ud3r motherboard, sata 2 unfortunately. I turned on everything from bios----integrated peripherals to ahci option and then i installed windows 8.1 after formatting of course. Now i receive at the bios start screens a sata ahci device check, something like this :

Serial ATA AHCI BIOS, Version iSrc 1.20E
Copyright © 2003-2008 Intel Corporation 23
** This version supports only Hard Disk and CDROM drives **
Please wait. This will take few seconds.

The difference is that i have bios version 1.07. After this screen it does the same check for sata raid devices where i receive a message : no device found. After all this and about 10-12 seconds delay it is logging in to windows. Any ways to remove that thing? I 've never seen that before with my caviar blue and old modes. I will try to post 1-2 photos from bios startup. Thank you in advance!

I have changed all sata to ahci modes from bios. It is on sata port 5 and I updated my bios version from f3 to f11. I still receive this menu but it is a little bit faster. I got 2 more gsata ports but I haven't ever use them. I got win7 on now. I even removed gigabyte logo screen but still cause of sata2 I need at about 18-20 seconds. 🙁 but ssd works on the half of its performance.
