Hello,

Trying to access the bios, not coming on during boot up.
Runs ok, just don't get the abilty to change bios options
screen

733 P3, Asus motherboard with a Award bios. Windows ME.

Is it possible it could even run without it.And can I
install the drivers without losing everything??

But need to know if is the F1 , F9, or delete key. Have
tried most of them.

Any help would be so cool.Is there any WinVin users out there?

OK, I fingered it out. Delete key, but had to power off as trying
to do it with restart did not work. Not enough time.

Problem with A drive light on is still happening. Have a internal
zip 100 drive showing as a primary slave in the bios, which is
effecting the A drive too. Should I turn that to off?

Is there somewhere in Win ME to disable the A drive?? It's not
set for on in the bios, but must be when ME starts. Can't even
put a disk in it with the light on.New problem that is driving
me crazy.Have not messed with the connection, so that's not it.

Any help I would appreciate it.

The time is there, its not taken advantage of by the slow responding user.

Working backwards, you mentioned a zip and an A drive. But you do not share
which you want to turn off.

If the A drive light is on all the time (floppy diskette drive), its most
likely the ribbon cable is 180 degree out.

Yes.

It's not

What does "not set for on" mean? Am assuming you're still talking about the
floppy diskette drive, not the zip.

Can't even

I want to turn off the A: drive, the zip is set for B: and not on, only
when I need it. Set "A" as a secondary master in the bios. Wonder if
this is why it's doing this, light comes on for no reason and stays on.

No it's not that at all.Connected right.

Where is it? I know I had it turned off before using a setting.

"733 P3, Asus motherboard"
You sure that motherboard exsists? A quick search comes up trumps.

"Is it possible it could even run without it."
No, there is no posability that your computer would work with out a
Basic Input and Output System.

"And can I install the drivers without losing everything??"
The BIOS isnt a drive (if that is what you where planning to do)

"But need to know if is the F1 , F9, or delete key. Have tried most of
them."
Did you try presing TAB to view the post screen which should tell you
which button to press?

Now you seem to be calling the zip the A: drive.
A floppy diskette drive cannot be secondary master.

I would physically disconnect the floppy drive, indicate none in the bios
for the floppy drive. Disable the floppy irq usage in the bios. Don't mess
with windows, it will pick it up by itself. The Zip should take A: at this
point.
