bios messed up

i recently purchased a ryzen 5 2600 from amazon to replace my ryzen 5 1400 that i had in my mothebroard, whenever i replaced the old chip with the new one the pc would turn on but no display, i tried putting the old chip back in to figure out what was happening that chip wouldnt work either, i called my uncle and he said the bios might be messes up and i need help on how to fix this since i cant access my bios

The 2600 needs a newer BIOS to run on older gen RYZEN boards. If you can get your old CPU to run again you can update the BIOS so that it will run the 2600.

the issue is that whenever i put my old chip back in to do that, the old chip started having the same problem as my new chip and i dont know how that would happen

Have you tried clearing the CMOS.

if you mean taking the silver battery out and letting it sit for a bit then putting it back in then yes i have and i havent had any luck
