Bios mod / overlocking for Graphics Card

what is the diference between bios modding your gpu and overlocking it?
i have never seen an explanation to what is bios modding or flashing your gpu for mining
can you achieve the same hashrate with both of them?
i am buying a rx 570 and use it for mining but want to get the most out of it

When it comes to bios modding, it's usually done to change the default values or increase/remove limits.
An example would be lowering the default voltage for a mining card so it uses less power.
You can also change the TDP limit, clocks and fan speeds.
If you are setting a a mining farm with multiple cards it's easier to apply a modified bios then to go through every single card and manually set things to how you want it.
