Hi all, the wife has two identical Lenovo work computers that both have 4gb. I purchased a kit of 8gb Corsair DDR3 1600mhz 1.5v to add to machine #1, remove the existing memory and add it to machine #2 so they both have 8GB of memory. The factory memory in these machines is Samsung DDR3 1600mhz 11-11-11 1.35v.
The new corsair memory in machine #1 works but its running at 1333mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v according to BIOS and CPUZ. I cannot change any setting for the memory in BIOS I'm locked out from even selecting the 1333mhz description in BIOS and I cannot find any voltage or XMP/AMP selection. How do I get the new memory to 1600mhz? Is there a BIOS admin back door for Lenovo systems? Or will I need a different set of memory if I cannot configure BIOS. Machine #2 is running fine with the second memory stick at 8gb 1600mhz 11-11-11 1.35v.
Systems are Lenovo Thinkcenter M79. AMD-A8 7600 processor (supports the memory), The Lenovo Bantry CRB motherboard supports up to 32gb 1600mhz memory and has 4 slots.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
