BIOS no bootable device... but windows loads

Hey there everyone, I recently built a system that's been working fine for the past few months until suddenly when it started to crash shortly after i boot windows. In bios it says i have no bootable device but for some reason it still boots windows for about a minute before crashing. In device manager the drive shows up and says it's working fine and i can see the free space in the drive. I have an rog strix z370-e gaming board and a samsung 960evo nvme ssd. Is my ssd dead/corrupted? if so how am i able to boot windows at all especially if bios says there's nothing to boot from?

I would remove the BIOS battery for a while and then reset the BIOS to default and start over.
