I have recently started working on a new computer build and have pretty much everthing but i have one problem. when i start the computer it wont even boot to the bios and just stay at a black screen, all the lights and fans are running correctly.I have a MSI Z97 motherboard.I am running a I5 4440.

i have the link (http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Motherboards-Z97-PC-MATE/dp/B00K23BW70/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1438819394&sr=1-1&keywords=z97+motherboard)

Ok looks like it needs the first BIOS to support that CPU. So dont think thats the prob.

So you connected the ATX12v, the CPU fan and the 24 pin??

And you've connected the wires from the front of the case to the motherboard right?

Yup that's all in.

Did you connect the 2 pwr wires to the right pins on the mobo header? Some people do put this in the wrong place

And wonder why it wont turn on after. Short the 2 pwr pins on the mobo header see what happens

Sorry can you please dumb that down for me.

So it does turn on but no display then? If theres no display what connection are you using to connect it to a monitor?

And are you using onboard video or a separate videocard?? If it's separate did you plug it into the videocard??

Because it'll disable onboard video

You cant use a DVI-D to VGA adapter, theyre not compatible with each other

its a on-board graphics card and im using a DVI Cord on my monitor.and yes it turns on but however there is no display

no adapter just strait up cord and yes the cord is going directly to the back

gave the ram a go. it still does not work..
