Bios not recognized 2nd Hard Drive

Motherboard |Intel DP35DP
Hard Drive | Seagate 1.5

Second Drive disappeared from my computer suddenly.

My Bios will not recognize any working drive I put in the slot. Cables seem to be working fine.

Controller enabled in BIOS? Possibly the board is failing and the SATA controller gave up first.

check the cables to see that they connected. also see with your hand the drive is spinning. also try using seatools to see if it sees the drive. some seagates had firmware issues and would brick themselves.

used Seatools myself for my 2nd drive that suddenly disappeared from My Computer. Only my boot drive comes up.
My 2nd HDD is recognized and passes all test in Seatools. Cant see the HDD in the My Computer section coming up though. Any idea how I can get access back to all my files?

try some free data recovery tools you may have a damaged mbr or partion table that not letting windows see the hard drive.
if the recovery tools cant see your drive it may have bricked itself.

Thanks for your quick reply smorizio. I tried Testdisk and the following message appears when fully analyzing the disk:

Not too familiar with HD Jumer Settings and BIOS detection. Any idea what I should do next? Testdisk gives me the option to now Rebuild the Boot Sector or repair MFT.

fat16??? file system. Select the MFT (master file table)
So is it still in the slot where BIOS does not recognize any working drive?
