Bios not recognizing new cd rw drive

Hello,
I took a CD/RW drive out of an old computer and installed it in a friend's computer. I had done this before with this drive and it worked fine. This time I did everything the same and when I pressed the eject button to test it...nothing happened. My friend's computer doesn't show the drive being there. Even the BIOS says the drive isn't attacted to the computer. What happened and how do I fix this.

Verify that both the data (SATA or IDE) and power cables are firmly connected. If IDE and there is another device on the same cable, make sure both devices are set to Cable Select -or- set one to master and the other to slave.

Good luck!

It is an IDE connection. How do I set the "cable select" or "master/slave"?
