so i just built my first pc, and i cannot seem to get the POST to run, the monitor does not detect any signal even tho it is certainly plugged in correctly to the graphics card via a dvi slot.
there has never been any beeping like i'm suppossed to hear when i power up. i tried reseting the CMOS using the jumper and then when i powered up again, still no sound. what could this be? i'm soooooo frustrated right now. thanks

and i have an asus A8N-SLI mobo.

Check the Cmos battery and be sure it is making contact. Then test your PSU. If you continue to have this problem and you know you are getting good power then you may have a bad bios chip or there may be a bad capacitor on the MOBO.
I am having a similar problem with an intermittant bios start right now and we believe it is the MOBO. ONce I get things running all is well. This rig is now 2 1/2 years old and this just started when I reset the c mos the other day.
