Have built my rig and its running, but the BIOS only sees the SSD drive, but not my USB stick that contains Ubuntu for installation
Anyone know what is up here?

many thanks

Solution
Are you using a UEFI Ubuntu installer?
Yup this,or get into your bios and set it up for legacy boot.
But first of all if you never booted from theis USB before it could be that the USB never had a bootblock written on it so you would have to write an MBR on it.

I had booted from this stick before. I did this before I dismantled my old machine, just to test it worked.
All worked fine...

I did finally solved this problem myself in the BIOS.
Seems that I had to tell the BIOS that the USB device was a hard disk
I known this is rather vague but I hope it helps those that follow...

good luck
