BIOS on every start up.

Okay, so i just built my new PC and everything works great except that BIOS opens up automatically every time I turn the computer on.

I heard that it could be the CMOS battery but usually you would lose the date and time settings if that were the case. There is also no obvious error signs popping up on startup either.

Any help is appreciated :)

You can't actually enter BIOS and make changes? But you have the option to Save & Exit? You can see that BIOS doesn't detect a hard dive? These symptoms sound mutually exclusive.

Are you able to access BIOS and change settings? Do these changes remain in effect after the next COLD boot?

Do you have an EVGA motherboard?

My GUESS is that you have a bad CMOS chip. Changing the battery won't fix it. You'd have to swap the existing CMOS chip to know. Your motherboard manufacturer would likely rather you do that than return the motherboard to the store.

If BIOS changes do not remain after a cold boot, and it's a new system with a known good batter, then I'd look at replacing the CMOS chip.

If you change the CMOS chip and the problem...

It just jumps straight to BIOS. Then I just press F10 to save and restart and it loads windows normally.

Try a different keyboard. There might be a key-press signal coming from it in error, or a stuck key. Also, you might want to try removing the CMOS battery, booting it once, then putting the battery back in and booting again. This will reset the BIOS.

You likely have an option in the bios to bypass the bios screen automatically.
Thinking about it, a power on directly to bios as a default makes sense. It avoids the problem where a new user does not know how to get into the bios.
Read your motherboard manual

Well, the motherboard manual said nothing about it. But I did notice that when I turn on my computer...I can see through the window panel and the red LED for boot device stays lit up until I save and reset.

I also couldn't find an option to bypass BIOS in BIOS.

Can't be the keyboard, because when I save and reset it says press DEL to enter bios but it doesn't open.

And...is there a way to reset BIOS without opening the computer?

Very likely. You will need to enter the BIOS and find the option to reset to factory defaults if it exists. Check your motherboard manual. If you can't find the option then remove the CMOS battery.

If you change the CMOS chip and the problem persists, I'd replace the motherboard.

That's all if BIOS settings don't stick. If your BIOS settings persist after cold boot, but BIOS continues popping up, you need to look for that option to automatically start BIOS. If it exits, it should be described in your motherboard manual. You should check your motherboard's official forums for help isolating this particular problem.
