Question bios only showing 4088 mb ram

system specs:
cpu: core i7 960
ram: 16gb(4x4),1333mhz (ddr3)
gpu: zotac gt 710
mobo: asus sabertoothx58

PROBLEM: so when i start my system
(1)the dram led turns on
(2)system reboots 1 or 2 times
(3)dram led turns on,turns off
(4) vga led turns on, turns off
(5)boot device led turns on,turns off
(6)POST

But when it goes to bios(bcuz no os is installed yet)in the system information it only shows "usuable ram:4088mb" even though i have 16gb of ram, I even tried turning on the xmp mode.I think its bcuz the cpu [core i7 960] only supports 1066mhz ram[I have 1333mhz ram]. I could be tottaly wrong but if this is the case then what should i do.Should i like underclock it or something? OR overclock the cpu so it can support more ram. I have no idea.

Is this like assembly or did it suddenly happen?

Have you checked the memory sticks one by one and see if they show up? Have you tested all the DIMM slots on the mobo?

Oh yeah will do that after the new cpu cooler comes from Amazon the old one broke down.Without cooler the cpu overheats and the system just turns off.BTW SORRY FOR REPLYING LATE.
