i found this in another thread.

First: Removing the battery, along with disconnecting the power supply for 10 minutes will reset your BIOS to default


when he says it will reset....it will not reset the bios to where i cannot use my ryzen 7 3700? meaning i downloaded and installed the bios update for the new ryzens?

reset the settings in bios, not the bios version

It's actually CMOS reset, not BIOS. CMOS is part that just keeps BIOS settings. Resetting it brings Factory settings only. It also happens by default when you update/flash new BIOS.
