Hi i have Gigabyte P15 laptop and its been working great other than this problem. The laptop battery isn't great so doesn't hold but i use it on a table so i've not been bothered. The other day i had a power outage at home and when the power came back on my laptop was showing no boot device found. I had to go into the bios and change my settings back to allow my boot deice to be found, i changed the internal battery but still happens. Any ideas why this is happening.

That unit is very old. I'd just about bet the house on the fact that your CMOS battery is dead or weak. I'd start there.

Dead or weak CMOS battery is pretty much the only reason why the BIOS would ever reset after a power loss unless there was a fundamental problem with the motherboard itself. Seems like that's not likely here so likely it IS the CMOS battery. Hopefully the one in your laptop is the replaceable type as there are some which are a lot more difficult to replace, if at all.
