I have a Gigabyte - GA-78LMT-S2P Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard, And i just bought an AMD FX 8350 and installed it.

However when i boot up i get an error saying that the system doesnt support the CPU and that it is underclocking to maintain stability.

Multiple pc building sites have told me that this cpu and the mb are compatable with each other, so i have no idea what is going on

Solution
It's not compatible with the board only the 95w versions of FX CPU's are shown on all 3 revisions:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-78LMT-S2P-rev-5x#support-cpu

AM3+ support doesn't always every CPU in that lineup is compatible.
I would say it depends what version of the board you have, except none of them list the 8350 anyway.

PC building sites are not where you check compatibility, you go to the manufacturers support page for your motherboard and check the list they provide.

for example https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-78LMT-S2P-rev-31#support-cpu
You'd want to check thats the right list before trusting it, there seem to be 3 revisions of that board.
