Hello!

I'm in the process of changing my old HDD with a SSD. I'm only going to be using the SSD and have bought a Win10 CD to use with it.

My question is what do I need to change in the BIOS to setup my new SSD?

Do I only need to:

Change the "Onboard SATA Mode" to [AHCI]
Put in the Win10 CD
Change the "1st Boot Device" to the CD/DVD player

And then just boot with the Win10 CD?

Solution
For ordinary, SATA SSD, that's all you need to do in BIOS.
Just one advice not tied to SSDs only. Leave SSD as first BOOT device, just change to CD using fast BOOT choice (check your MB manual which F button is for that) so you don't have to enter BIOS again after first part of windows installation and first reboot. Makes life easier. Also disconnect any other drive you may have until windows are installed.
Good luck.
