Bios splash screen freezes at boot bad hdd i think.

Hi...
I got a...
Gigabyte b85m-d3h
WD Caviar green 1 tb
Intel i5 4440

Well the computer is stuck at gigabyte splash screen and wont boot when the hard drive is connected...
I had ubuntu before and tried to install windows 7 but it hanged up during the installation and i think it screwd the hdd...so it just wont get past the splash screen...although i can boot from a bootable usb when thr hdd is disconnected...i connected the hdd to another pc and got the same result...need help!

If it happens on two machines...I think it's almost certain that the hard disk has failed.
