About two days ago I had started my computer like usual but this time instead of it quickly booting up, it took a tad longer than usual. My BIOS startup time was about 12.2 seconds but it has increased to 28.6 and now 48.8 seconds.
I haven't upgraded or added any hardware and I haven't installed anything recently.
I ran a full system scan using the Windows Defender Security Center and nothing was found.

My specs:
Intel i5-7600k @ 3.50GHz (not overclocked)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
MS-7A71 motherboard
(will add more if required)

I am quite stumped as to why this is happening but if anyone can help that would be awesome :).

Thanks,

Solution
you can try the following :
* visit your motherboard support site. download and reinstall drivers. start with your chipset driver. then your graphics drivers. then the rest. check if a BIOS update is necessary. restart.

if that still didnt work :
* shutdown your PC. unplug power cord. turn off PSU.
* press power button for 1min.
* unseat RAM and GPU.
* put everything back and boot.
