bios tells me that im not runing dual chanel

do i place my ddr2 in the matching color slots or the 2 slots that are closest togeather. ive got the GA 965P S3 if that helps...

Put your two ddr2 sticks in the YELLOW slots. Then it will run in a dual channel setup.

dead on. although in single channel setups, its recommended you stick em in as close to cpu as possible.

I bought the same board for an upgrade for my nephew... I also had the same question... I looked in the manual... and found my answer. Near the beginning of the manual, there's a table that clearly shows how to configure dual channel.
